IICS’s New literacies target core skills necessary for our students to be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective. We believe that it is only by being literate in these three areas  IICS student will be empowered with the skills, concepts and values to thrive in our technology-driven, changing world.

Information Literacy is

Questioning, defining, selecting, analyzing, evaluating, applying, and reporting information or messages.

Community Literacy is…

Actively and respectfully participating and creating purposeful connections with others.

Tools Literacy is…

Safely using, exploring, developing skills, troubleshooting, and creating using a variety of technologies.
